How much does a new roof cost in Florida?
Most Florida homes land between about $475 and $750 per roofing square for architectural shingles, $1,000 to $1,800 for standing seam metal, and $1,000 to $1,900 for concrete tile, installed with tear-off. A square is 100 square feet of roof. Miami-Dade and Broward run higher because of High-Velocity Hurricane Zone rules. Enter your address for a range based on your actual roof size.
How does the calculator measure my roof?
It uses Google’s aerial and satellite roof data for your address, which reports the sloped surface area and pitch of each roof section. We add 10% for waste, which is standard for material ordering, and convert to roofing squares.
Do I have to give my phone number to see the price?
No. Your roof size and price range show on screen without any contact details. You only share your information if you want quotes from roofers.
How accurate is a satellite roof measurement?
It is close enough to plan a budget and compare quotes, and not a substitute for an on-site measurement. Trees, shade, additions built after the imagery date, and detached structures can make the number low or high. A roofer confirms the size before a final contract.
Can my insurance company make me replace my roof because of its age?
Under Florida Statute 627.7011, an insurer may not refuse to issue or renew a homeowners policy solely because the roof is under 15 years old. At 15 years or older, you have the right to an inspection, and if it shows at least five years of remaining useful life, the insurer may not refuse coverage based on roof age alone.
